Eric was committed to being a coach for the Jr. Zebras even when it was medically difficult to physically get on and off the field.  He was working on his own to try and come up with ways to raise money for the Jr. Zebras in the form of starting a boosters club for the Jr. Zebras.  He was never too busy to chat about football and he was never short on ideas for the Jr. Zebras.  He supported both Football and Cheer and was never shy about admitting that he was a cheer daddy. His impact on the Jr. Zebras and in the lives of the coaches and athletes will be felt for many year to come. I would count Eric as a Hero of the Jr. Zebras.

Eric passed away on the practice field doing what he loved.  Eric last coached during the preseason on July 27th, 2017. 

In remembrance of his impact and support for youth football and cheer the Jr. Zebras renamed the "Hero of the Jr. Zebras" award to the " Eric R. Morales Hero Award".
